About me
I was born and raised in Northern New Mexico. In Las Vegas to be exact. And no, that’s not the famous Las Vegas. It’s a college town of about 18,000 people in Northern New Mexico. (It’s where most of No Country For Old Men was filmed.) Weather-wise it’s much more like Colorado than the parched desert that people tend to picture. This is in large part due to the elevation — about 7,000 feet, or 2,000 meters.
I go by two names: Stan and Adam. My full name is Stanley Adam Trujillo, but my parents preferred calling me Adam at first, and it stuck. So my family calls me Adam, but professionally I’m Stan. What my friends use depends on how they met me. I used to care which one people used, but I got over it.
After I left New Mexico, I lived in California (twice), Florida, and Washington state. I stayed the longest in Seattle, where I lived for about six years. In February of 2006, I moved to Copenhagen, Denmark. There were several reasons, one of which I talk about here, but it was also an easy move to make because I was working at Microsoft in Seattle, and it wasn’t hard to get a position in Microsoft’s Copenhagen division.
In September 2008, I married Lisbeth Vestergaard Hansen, a Dane that I met while working at Microsoft in Denmark (see wedding entry). And in February our first child, Ellen, arrived.
I left Microsoft in 2007 to work as a web developer with a small Danish consulting firm called Codehouse. I really like my job. I also like writing and taking pictures. I use this blog to describe my experiences in Denmark, to post some of my writing, and to showcase some of my pictures. I hope you enjoy it.
