Art Trujillo was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico, and as a boy delivered papers for the local newspaper, the Las Vegas Optic. Today, retired after twenty-nine years as a professor of mass-communication and journalism at New Mexico Highlands University, Art writes an award-winning column for the Optic.
